`89 250TD `Break, manual
Hello All, can we swap out `89 w124 250d mill,(300,000mls) for `97, 312d sprinter lump (100`000mls) easy ? or nightmare ? w124 is lame, have driven sprinter today and it is very, very good, body shot but. thanks.:)

How deep are you pockets as this would cost a fortune.

It can be done fairly easily, but you may need the inlet manifold from the w210 e290td (usa), or one of the ssangyong/kia/daewoo 4x4 models. If I remember correctly, there is a 190e 2.6 running that engine somwhere in the uk.

Hi again, when you say fairly easily, does that infer most of the task is ok with inlet manifold being the only fly in the ointment ?

cheers :)

The engine is a direct "bolt in" job, using the w124 gearbox and engine mountings. You need to make a custom exhaust downpipe (just cut and shut the sprinter item), and mount the van intercooler in the front of the car.

The headache is the wiring, not impossible but time consuming.

Maybe give this a great deal of thought then.....perhaps not a Sat morning job then.....thanks for your input guys, cheers
