I have a 300sl 1992 which I bought S/H and I notice that there is no plastic undertray below the engine bay as there is on the 124 of the same period .Does the 129 have an undertray or is mine missing

I noticed that on my 1996 C220 as well. No protection cover under the engine bay from the road whereas another 1997 C180 has got it. Strange. Anyone can help? I will be seeing MB this weekedn I will ask.

The plastic cover should be standard for the 202s as is on my dad's 190E. The steel cover is optional for petrols, and IIRC standard for diesels.

Yep according to the MB parts database there should be undertrays for all these models. Not cheap as usual ... around GBP140.

Sid. You may have read of my project. The 380SEL will have a surplus undertray if it will fit.

will it fit

Ian. thanks for the offer I will have to lay down in front of someones 124 and see if it might fit .The 124 and 129 look like a very similar floorpan as the front suspension is the same layout but the dimensions may differ. my engine is the M103 12 valve as fitted to the E300.Its a pity you are not a bit nearer as I would pop over ,may see you at the next UPT NORTH GTG. Sid

Re closer and upt narth GTG. In that case Sid, I will keep it for you. Just dont lay down in front of a MOVING 124, they are a little on the heavy side :D
