epc malfunction

Hi everyone help needed quite a new owner of a 2003 c270 just of late when i accelerate hard or try to kickdown dash comes up with epc malfunction then wont rev over 3000 switch off malfunction goes untill i try to accelerate hard again stationary it will rev to max if done gently any help would be appreciated thanks

You might??? have a gearbox problem--- the gearbox ECU "talks" to the main ECU. if there is a problem it will go it to " limp home mode" to protect the engine or transmission. Your car is of an age which had the Valeo radiator problem which allowed radiator coolant to mix with the autotransmission fluid- lot s of posts about this if you do a search. It could be another transmission problem of course--- have you checked the fluid level recently?

I would go for a proper readout with stardiag first

You need a leak off test done. This fault is usually caused by a faulty high pressure pump or an injector leaking off too much
