Hi, I had the EPC visit workshop come warning light come on after my car died on the motorway.I pulled over and restarted the engine .It started but this happened about 1000km ago as well and after diagnostic test although appearing on the computor result as a fault that happened the garage didn't really find a problem.I changed the plastic fuel ipes thinking this was linked to a air in fuel problem (which was known to be causing starting problems). Can anyone say what they think is wrong.
I should also mention a clutch that is slow to return to the correct position on starting the car and often springs up after a slight delay. It seems to rectify itself .

thks
Tony

I'm no expert but my E320 CDI's 'EPC visit workshop' warning came up when I played the 'how far can I get the car to run on just fumes' game and it ran out of diesel. A refuel and bleed of the system and it was fine - nothing else showed up on diagnostic.

It could be that you have an intermittent fuel delivery problem which clears itself when you re-start the engine.

I got it when my injectors were $hagged due to fuel pump disintegration causing the fuel filter and injectors to clog up when giving it some welly i.e. over 3000rpm.

I could have replaced everything and it woulda been expensive, but luckily (nod to JAR Motorsports) my good garage stripped my fuel pump down, emptied the fuel tank of any crap, re-conned my injectors, and replaced my fuel filters for a lot less than a 'replace everything' job woulda been. It's run brilliant, in that respect anyway, since then.

So it could be injector/fuel pump related, if this helps.
