Euro car parts, never again .

Lovely seals.

Eurocarparts has undergone--- a huge expansion /change of ownership/ taken over other companies/ extended the makes they cover--- over the years and are a much bigger organisation than they once were. They do seem to carry more "pattern parts" than in the past:( but are still a very valuable source of OEM parts from lemforder, bilstein, etc.:) It does pay to be selective about the choice of parts available with the quality makes often twice the price of a cheaper pattern part. This is usually clear from their website listing.
I have always found them to be knowledgable and helpful on the telephone provided you do a bit of homework first like knowing your chassis / engine number and year of manufacture etc.:o When a recent order failed to arrive a replacement order was rapidly forwarded without any quibble. They have saved me LOADS OF MONEY over the years. I'm convinced their presence + GSF etc in the market has caused Mercedes to lower their " over the counter" spares prices to realistic levels. However having sung their praises I would always check your local MB dealer price since they can be competitive also especially online and nothing beats that nice box with that shiny seal.

Did you think the part was substandard before you fitted it? if so why fit it? You have had one bad part from a supplier and are willing to write them off over it, has anything ever gone wrong with your Mercedes? if so at that point did you stop buying the Mercedes product.

Your comments do no seem to be the result of a number of issues, or even the result of the knowledge of a number of issues with regard to ECP, it seems to me that they were simply supplied with a sub standard switch!

Reading between the lines what seems to have made you mad is that time spent fitting, removing, and then re-fitting again; this I can see but when you chose to save money and do jobs yourself I suppose thats the risk you take. If you pay MB to do it then its their risk.

Thanks for your comment, and yes I was more mad about the time taken to fit, and then replace the part, than a £7 part

My SL isnt a everyday car, its a hobby, I enjoy working on it and improving it as much as driving it.

This was the first time I had used ECP, but its my money, and in the future I will only use Mercedes part or branded names, not ECPs pattern parts.

Until Mercedes drop the parts for your car from their stock list and leave you in the lap of the likes of ECP
