Just came across these recent YouTube videos on various DIY jobs on your car. DIY Video Guide to Servicing Your Car | Euro Car Parts ? Help | Any part for Any car Commendable first effort but could do with a little editing for detail. I will take only one as an example. Replacing the front discs and pads--- good clear step by step instructions in the main but with a few omissions.
First and a biggie in my book- singular omission of advice to wear disposable gloves and a good face mask. Safety glasses are mentioned at one point and the video shows a mechanic wearing disposable gloves throughout the procedure
And although its advised to wash down the brake assembly with brake cleaner wearing a face mask to avoid inhaling that fine dust is never mentioned :fail Other than that the use of thread locker when replacing the calliper carrier bolts , perhaps using a torque wrench for the bolts and greasing the sliding caliper pins, it seems pretty comprehensive.
