Ever thought the Merc isn't worthy of the driver?

Poor Britney ....

I've got a bit of a soft spot for her too .... :o

She should come and live with me for a bit, and do normal things .... go for beers with the boys , walk by the river , wash my car , she'd soon be ok

Brittany Spears has milked the media and used it for years but this lady is now mentally ill and it is sickening to see these vultures harrassing her. I had to stop watching the video but nice car. :o :o

When you play with fire you tend to get burnt, Brittany wanted fame and fortune and now it is so very sad to see the results. I do hope she gets better and gets reunited with her children.

Regards
John

What a low life occupation being a celebrity stalker is.

I have such contempt for the papps and the buyers Heat, OK, Hello & all the other celebrity driven rags.

I agree, but I also find it sick that there is such an industry built around it. OK, Hello, Heat, etc are just terrible, boring, inane vessels of twaddle mostly full of vacuous celebrities with nothing to say and no real talent to speak of.

Conversely, I came home from Geneva yesterday and on the same flight was Lawrence Dellaglio - now there is a skilled individual who has actually achieved something without trading his dignity.

This is the trade off for fame and fortune, it isn't new, celebrity has been around for centuries....

They earn their money by using the media, then complain the media won't leave them alone...

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

You want be rich and left alone...start a business, become a billionaire without all the associated crap...

You want a short cut without having to work?....become a celebrity....but there's a trade off. Deal with it.

I am slightly in Mudster's camp,
I have never seen any of these magazines, never picked one up, never flipped through one to see its content, so I have no opinion either way regarding their content, BUT....

I wonder if Brittany Spears sold the rights to her weddding to any of these magazines? The Spice Girls have very recently milked the media to get their pictures on the front pages, plus in the past we have witnessed these women saying anything to get their pictures into the media; Beckham's wife being a prime example,"My husband wears my knickers!" Now when I have seen this woman, I have seen more meat on a pencil and common sense tells me that her underwear must have been extremely flexible for this to have happened, but it got her Worldwide publicity. These same photographers\editors have long memories and will take great delight in biting back. The Beatles divorce being an ideal example. Sir Paul McCartney has never taken advantage of the press and appears to be having a smoother ride??

BUT..........

When someone is ill, especially mentally ill then this is what sorts out the really gutter, swamp like creatures of our society. If we cannot treat a sick person with a little respect, or decency then it says more about us than it does about the victim.

Was there a need for her to drive that car with the window wound down? Of course not, she could quite easily have been driven in any type of vehicle with either blacked out windows or no windows at all. She is ill and I don't suppose she knows what planet she is on??? I see no difference between those pictures and pictures taken of someone bleeding to death when the photographer could, if they wanted to, offer first aid.

If nobody bought them, they would dissappear from the newstands.

I agree with Mudster ....

"They earn their money by using the media, then complain the media won't leave them alone..."

Lets face its they love the attention, lap it up when all going well and yet when things turn against them they don't like it.

Funny how some seem to be in the headlines all the time and other you don't hear about.

As Mudster says...deal with it.

Depends whether you believe what is printed.
I would guesstimate that at least half of what is printed in newspapers and magazines regarding this type of subject matter is pure conjecture and hypothosis on the part of the "journalist". Often preceeded by the standard get-out clause "It is reported........."

Totally agree,

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story

Even with that gt out clause it is common pratice for these celebrities to sue. Naomi Campbell being an ideal example, Look at me, aren't I beautiful. How dare you take a picture without my permission!!!!!

As far Miss Spears is concerned, I would not trust one word printed in any paper or magazine regarding her situation. Its all designed to shift papers. End of story, and as John has already said, never let the truth get in way of a good story.

Regarding Johns last point quoted above...........
I can recall a case from several years ago when a photographer commited suicide due to the fact that he could not resolve in his own mind a situation he found himself in. He was reporting about famine in Africa and took photos of this little child who was clearly on the brink of death who had to walk 10 miles or something to the nearest food distribution point. The photos he took were geniunely heart breaking and terrible. He stated in an interview afterwards that he was unsure of the fate of the child as he left the area shortly after taking the photos. Over a period of a few years this clearly played on his mind to such an extent that he took his own life as he could not live with the fact that he COULD probably have saved the childs life if he had diverted his attentions away from taking photos for just an hour or two.
A waste of 2 lives..........

A tragic event and quite clearly this person was in the wrong job and again they were mentally disturbed and needed help.

Look at the Middle East and see the photgraphers inciting five year old children to throw stones or even petrol bombs at soldiers.... Just to try and get a picture of a soldier shooting an 'innocent' child.

is not that what Mudster is saying - deal with it. The 'celebrities' know this too; but they cannot help themselves because they crave the attention - when it goes mammaries up they should not bleat - sorry - no sympathy for them (but then I am 38 and have not had a TV since i left Uni so have not time for the Celebrity Culture that exists today)

I am not disagreeing with what mudster has written. I do actually agree with him.
My point was different.

Playing with the media is like selling your soul to the devil - might seem a good idea at the outset but it always comes back to bite you.

They are never your friend, and most forget that they are in it for the money too. So why, when you've leveraged them to get your fame and fortune, would they not return the favour to make their fortune at your expense?

From the other side of the lens, I do know a couple of "paps" - they work long and hard to make their money shooting what people want to read in the trash mags. Most are self-employed and it's hard to get stuff published unless a staffer for an agency or mag. Quite often it's the challenge that drives them (and the price) - pics of the hideaway holiday and so on. You can bet that the vast majority of the mob on that video above were not prod, but wannabees looking to make a splash on YouTube or trying to break in - shame that Britney in a car / hotel is not worth anything (as you can see by the ease of access and number of people). Now Britney in the hospital would be worth a fortune, and you can bet that the security would match that too.

Both guys do this because decent photojournalism is not what it used to be. The digital revolution has put paid to this (see the BBC asking for photos at the end of every major news story on their site, for example) so it's become a game of extreme risk in order to produce something out of the ordinary.

If you need a hand with her, just let me know (I think I know what the answer will be ...)

But back on thread, yes the black private hire E-class that overtook me and a traffic island in Acton this morning ...

Thanks for getting back to the point I was trying to make, other examples of people who you think aren't worthy of the car? :D
