Ever thought the Merc isn't worthy of the driver?

I seem to recall Robbie Savage (probably the most stereotypical overpaid, annoying footballer) has a yellow lambo. Proves your point!;)

Tickles me what Lawrence Dallaglio said regarding footballers and the football league on TG.
He said they referred to it as “ The Andrex league, all soft and unnecessarily expensive”. :D :D :D

Playing with the media is like selling your soul to the devil - might seem a good idea at the outset but it always comes back to bite you.

They are never your friend, and most forget that they are in it for the money too. So why, when you've leveraged them to get your fame and fortune, would they not return the favour to make their fortune at your expense?

From the other side of the lens, I do know a couple of "paps" - they work long and hard to make their money shooting what people want to read in the trash mags. Most are self-employed and it's hard to get stuff published unless a staffer for an agency or mag. Quite often it's the challenge that drives them (and the price) - pics of the hideaway holiday and so on. You can bet that the vast majority of the mob on that video above were not prod, but wannabees looking to make a splash on YouTube or trying to break in - shame that Britney in a car / hotel is not worth anything (as you can see by the ease of access and number of people). Now Britney in the hospital would be worth a fortune, and you can bet that the security would match that too.

Both guys do this because decent photojournalism is not what it used to be. The digital revolution has put paid to this (see the BBC asking for photos at the end of every major news story on their site, for example) so it's become a game of extreme risk in order to produce something out of the ordinary.
not trying to start a war but look what happened to princess DI in the end after being storked by the paps regrads jon

Not wishing to enter into a war, but Diana used the press the same as any other celeb. I am not saying she in any way deserved the untimely and horrific end that befell her, but as has been said before, the press can and do come back and bite if they think you have taken advantage of them.
Diana was simply in wrong place at the wrong time. And wherever she was in the world - at any time she was surrounded by hordes of journalists and it was inevitable at least a percentage of the blame would rest on their shoulders. Justified or not.

If Diana had wanted to avoid the Press and publicity she wouldn't have stayed at a famous hotel in the middle of Paris, would she? She loved it and sort it. Craved it I would say.

Posh too is always dreaming up another silly interview for the celebrity Press.

But I do think Britney is a bit different. She has been a superstar since childhood with Disney. She is meganews any time she likes and doesn't need to seek it. Only two or three people in the world can claim to be the top princesses of pop on a world level and she is certainly one of them. We saw Whitney Houston destroyed in a similar way before her. Drink and drugs always seem to be a major part of the destructive mix.
