My warranty is up for renewal at the end of the month, the stealers want £520 to extend it another year.

Is it worth doing? Thoughts, opinions valued.

As the Radio, CD, Linguatronic, phone, heated seats, headrest have all packed in this weekend, perhaps it's a timely reminder to get the warranty extended!

£520 for a warranty you hopefully may never need, or £1000's if all hell breaks loose.
I know what I'd do ;)
Renew it :D

I'd renew it if I were you!

Some years ago I was in this position with my c220. After the main warranty expired I was offered a further 3 years (I think). The dealers at the time, who were very good, checked the car very carefully and said they didn't think I would need it. They were right. The only significant problem (ECU) happened after 10 years and after I had sold it. That said it was a '95 and they were built rather well.......

It seems a lot for one year - perhaps some negotiation or shop around - but deffo worth doing. ;)

Edna's back in the dealers now having yet another rear speed sensor fitted as it blew again today. The sales guy suggested I might be burning them out  :o Who me? He reminded me how hed been on a few test drives with me :o :p

But it got me to thinking about extending the warranty toon while I was sat there sitting as you do. Warranty expires in July - so it will be extended! ;)

A must.

Has to be done. One non trivial problem and you will be back in the money.

I had an AA warranty on my SL that ran out a few months back. On a parting note I managed to get a claim of £3500 put through.

I want another warranty, shame the AA dont do them anymore.

I have been looking for a warranty for a 1991 SL. Many of the companies limit their warranties to 10 year old or younger cars. One that offers warranties for classic cars states cars must be 1990 or older. Another company which does not appear to have an age restriction, limits a single claim to a max of £500 (for a premium of £232) Any suggestions, anyone?

OK if you have lots of £499 claims I suppose....how likely is that?

Called my dealer today. They said £980  for the ML270, and £630 for the C32 AMG for 12 months.

 Almost a grand for the ML!!?? Maybe they know what's in store for me post warranty!!??

I wish i had done now.... we all make mistakes!
