Black W210 E55 saloon

Not everyone's cup of tea and they have their issues but I've a soft spot for the W210, having owned four of them previously.

I don't like the non-standard boot badge on this one, mind and there is a difference in the front indicators. Whether it's the bulb or discolouration, IDK.

I like a Facelift W210 - not a fan of the pre-facelifts anymore, the fronts look too iffy IMO.

The W210 is actually now smaller in all dimensions than the W206, the W205 was roughy the same size. :O

It has a Private Lounge sticker in the windscreen. Someone round here should know it.

Lots of cars I found, shall we say, visually challenging when launched, I grew to like over time. The 210 is not one of them I'm afraid. The headlights are just wrong to my eyes and completely mismatched to the rest of the design.....but each to their own. I'm sure that one will be a great car for someone and hopefully not as biodegradable as most of them having been resprayed properly.

I'm not a fan of those headlights but I can forgive it as the rest of the design is spot on in 55 spec.

The E55 was a fabulous car back in the day and would still be a decent steer today.

The respray is the easy bit! The extent of rust damage is what I’d be concerned over.

These car were hanging ten years ago, as much as I like old Mercs I’d give this a wide berth myself - you’ll be chasing rust/rot on it forever :-(

The W210 was a tragedy, MB gambled they took a huge chance on this series and lost big times

W210s were great cars rust aside - engines strong, solid interiors, nice to drive etc just the bloody rust!

In terms of reliability and power, it was probably the best performance Mercedes ever made. They do everything very well and rarely break down.

I agree. I've had 5 of them, although only one E55 AMG. Mine was a facelift. I pxed it for the cl55 but the dealer I sold it to left it to rot in a car park. I found out if was left there for at least 5 years
