Ml 63
Hi everyone this is my first post so please hear with me.I I have just bought a ml 63 w166,2014.My question is the car is pearlescent , but white inside door shuts and bonnet. Is this normal or paint fade?.There is no accident history or respiratory evidence, so I’m wondering if it’s factory finish. It’s not wrapped.Hope someone can help with my question many thanks RHVP.

Not sure how paint in the door shuts and under bonnet could fade?
Can't say I've ever heard of factory finish paint being different as they would have to mask off.
Are you sure it just doesn't look as pearlescent due to how the sunlight falls on it?

You say you just bought it, from a dealer or privately? Could you contact the previous owner?

Let’s have some pictures buddy

If you put your chassis number into one of the various VIN decoders, it should tell you the original paint colour, together with the code.

Thanks guys, at work now but will check later and post result. It just seems Wierd when you open the doors to be a non Pearl in the shuts. There’s no evidence of spraying anywhere, so I’m wondering if it’s a factory Finnish. Thanks once again.👍

If it is Designo Diamond White, then that's exactly how my 2015 facelift E63 was: plain finish in the door shuts, under the bonnet and under the boot lid. It's how they came from the factory.

I had my money on some form of cut and shut

You're welcome.

The pearlescent paint finish is a three stage affair: white base coat, pearlescent coat, and lacquer. My guess is that it's simply the pearlescent coat that's left out when the non-visible areas are painted so as to reduce cost.

I think my c63 is the same 😀
