Just wondering , has anyone upgraded the standard radio as fitted to a clc180k to a more comprehensive unit (Dynavin etc) if so I would appreciate any info or advice as to any problems I may face. Cheers guys

If you have a standard audio 20 then you should be ok as these have an internal amp - things start getting tricky if you have the fibre optic connected amp.
Otherwise, you can find dash trim and quad-lock to ISO connectors, steering-wheel control modules etc easily and cheaply on ebay.

dynavin is a direct replacement and give the most OEM look & feel - dash display, wheel controls - BUT they are quite expensive for the N6 models (£599) for unproven audio quality.

what do you want from your in-car hifi? DAB? MP3 playback? Sat-Nav? Just better quality sound? - because then you really need to upgrade the speakers too ;)

PS you might have more response asking this kind of question in the electronic section :)

I would do a lot of research before commiting to a Dynavin. they are in our professional opinion, rubbish. They are poorly made, dont integrate fully and perform poorly. We have removed many for people.

If you want to move away from Mercedes parts then look at alpine as they are excellent units and work well.
