HI, I have a 2014 SLK in Fire Red. I have had it from new and it has only done 29000 miles. The paint surface has started to blister. Took it to the dealer that I purchased it from and he confirmed the top lacquer has started to peel away leaving water blisters. He is going to submit the details to Mercedes and says I might get a 50% repaint job.
Have other owners got a full respray at no cost?

Do a search for "Fire Opal Red" and you'll turn up a few threads regarding the problem of micro-blistering and lacquer peeling.

A few members have received full-car bare metal resprays fully funded by MB, but a couple have had their claims denied. I'd suggest reading through the threads so you're forewarned about reasons for acceptance or denial of a claim and how such a denial may be countered.

Good luck with your claim, and please keep us posted.

I had a full bare metal respray. Had to pay for plastic parts, bumpers & skirts as they were not covered. If you've had any paintwork done to the car then they won't cover that panel.20210413_213640_IMG_6916.jpg
