There is an urban myth in the UK that the centre lane is for cruising other myths i have heard is lane 1 is for lorries only. Mind you I am not surprised there was once a public information film saying lane 3, the outside lane, for overtaking only (which is true) and of course we had the infamous weaver bird who weaves from lane to lane which could incorrectly suggest that you should pick a lane and stick to it! Apologies if I have my lane numbering incorrect it has been 30 years since I was an all vehicle class examiner, I never achieved road roller status

Saw a (male) driver doing this yesterday, and in an old car that had no driver aids. So neither hand holding the wheel, not looking forward and completely oblivious to anyone else. The most mindless bit of 'driving' I've had the displeasure of witnessing.

What a complete plonker!

I've seen a bloke with a map partially laid out across the steering wheel while driving on a motorway and no his sandwiches weren't wrapped in it.
