Iv just paid a deposit on a late 2011 Mercedes E350 CDi Coupe in Metallic Mineral White. Im buying the car from a Mercedes Main Dealer in Stockport and from the pictures it looks stunning. Its covered 71k miles and obviously buying from a main dealer they will service it beforehand, put a new MOT on it and ill have 12 months warranty.

Options wise its fully loaded including the panoramic twin sunroofs. Yes I could have bought one cheaper elsewhere but I feel more comfortable buying it from a main dealer.

I cant wait to pick her up on Thursday. Out of interest do all E350's come with Xenons?

Ill post some pics when I can...

Have you driven the car?

Nope. Will be doing on Thursday. Obviously if it's rubbish I won't be buying it. But I wouldn't have thought Mercedes would sell an approved used car, put it through their workshop, prepare it to the highest quality if it was rubbish...

I agree can't see an approved MB dealer selling a lemon. I love the feeling leading up to picking a new car up. Is it me or do the days before drag in?

Very true mate, always nervous spending a large amount of cash but I'm reassured buying from a dealer as I know it's covered if anything major occurs..

New car syndrome

1. Days drag to pick up
2. Small talk with sales rep on day of collection (cut the small talk, just let me leave)
3. Drive to the shop 20 miles away for a packet of chewing gum
4. Sit at midnight outside in car reading manual
5. Buy complete new cleaning/polish system
6. Lose sleep trawling internet /forums for info on model

They are trying to sell me all these additional covers. Paint cover, interior cover etc etc...I just want the car

Paint protection, gap insurance etc... is where much of the profit margin is for the dealers and (after finance) the salesman will have targets to sell the additional items. Just say no but don't begrudge the sales guy - he's just doing his job.

I picked up mine last weekend. All I can say is mine came with xenon lights. I love the car. It's got so many gadgets and is so comfortable to drive. And it's a bit quick :-)

RS's new car syndrome:

1. Consider all years and models produced by MB that fit the budget
2. Buy what nobody mentioned or suggested

Love this guy. Open mind and he sticks to his budget and gets it done. Enjoy RS and post some pictures. I hope it goes as good as it looks.

Haha cheers Fred. I really wanted an E55/E63 but realistically I had to question whether I could seriously afford to run one as an everyday car.

Iv only heard good things about the E350 and in coupe form I think it's a stunning car. Obviously I'm just hoping it turns out to be a reliable motor for me.

In the end you've basically bought the newer version of the car you sold?

Ah well, no issues, now done 26000 miles just had first B, service a couple of weeks ago before we left for Southern Spain, did the 1300 miles from Calais over two days, one night in S/W France and averaged 44.3 mpg, for whole trip. Previously owned E220 Coupe, but the 350 is so much more power and torque, as well as being quiet and smoother, lovely engine. Enjoy yours. :thumb:

Hi, did you get your new coupe yet, what do you think of it? Put some pics up if you have them.

I have mate yes I'll put some pics up the next few days.
