Finally got the AMG out..

Nice one, i know what you mean. Not driven my car since 3rd jan but once i get out of this diving chamber.. (13hrs & 15 mins of decompression remaining...can't wait !!) then i should be home on sunday so looking fwd to firing the motor up and taking it for a spin. You never know may be adding bits of carbon at some point to it as well...

Decompression chamber ?!

I guess the clue is in your name  :D

Firing up the AMG after a while of absence puts the biggest smile on your face!

Carbon fibre bits sound interesting!

Weather should be good tomorrow..

I'm very tempted to get the car out again in the evening.

But they're saying its going to drop below freezing again on Saturday night so they'll probably be throwing poxy grit around again :(

I'll see how it goes.

You need to be careful, a sharp piece of that burst my pushbike tyre last w/e...

My bike could do with a clean, shall I drop it round... ?

Lol

Yeah, no worries.

I'll be in the garage giving my engine a going over tomorrow so I can do it after.

:D

I'd take a picture, but honestly, you would have a heart attack...black streaks and crap all over the carbon forks...

It's a road bike...this is the real world...

I got a puncture last w/e and had to get changed into scruffs and put latex gloves on to fix it... :D

Give it a wash down outside, dry it off and then get it in the lounge a spend some time detailing it. Wouldn't take long. It'll come up good.

You never know Rash the Brooklands GTG on the 17th could be dry and sunny !!!

Rash...I love your excess of cleaning as it makes me seem relatively ordinary :) Handy to use as a benchmark when the missus starts thinking I'm excessive with my car detailing ;)

But cleaning your engine when the car has only done a few (dry I assume?) miles since its last thorough cleaning session? There must be nothing to detail!!

Do you never fancy doing some really long journeys in it (such I do to Germany, Switzerland etc at least a couple of times a year!) to really enjoy and open it up properly? You'd never keep it clean which I'm not sure you could cope with but you'd get so much enjoyment from driving it!

I always think a performance car looks good when covered in muck, shows it has been used and abused properly!

So much fun on the winter roads in a RWD V8.

I can understand a man wanting to keep his pride and joy clean though, just I couldn't keep a car Locke d for that long.

Hey bud!
Hope you are well :thumb:

I'm keeping track of your threads. Cracking cars Andy, hats off to you!

Looking forward to catching up with you again and seeing your new toys

I'm glad I can help keep your lady off your back regarding detailing.. By all means point out the crazy Rashman whenever she pipes up about your detailing/ OCD! :D

As for taking the car on longer journeys, yes, I really am keen to take the car on some decent road trips.

There has been mention of a trip to the AMG factory later this year which I am very keen to attend!

I would love to spear-head the trip but I have not made the journey before so I don't think I would want the responsibility of arranging accommodation, route etc. not this time anyway. So I am hoping some of the more experienced guys here who have made the trip will take the lead.

On a long journey, I know that I wouldn't be able to control the weather.. So it would be a time when you would see my car subjected to the weather... and me accepting it!  :D

Hi you sound just like me and many others I suspect, wait for dry roads,a bit of sun get the roof down and away, listen to that exhaust rumble, nothing like it so roll on Spring and Summer.

Now that alone might make the trip worth joining :D

BTW Rash have you seen the CLK63 on Autotrader 1 Owner, 35K, in Black, Up for £28,900? I have been working on the wife as it's a bit outside my budget but these are so rare it might be worth the stretch, thoughts?

Lol, cheeky bugger. Though I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one who would enjoy the rare sight of my car being subjected to any unfavourable weather  :D

CLK63 on auto trader.. No, I hadn't seen that!

My opinions about getting it are always going to be biased I'm afraid so I probably couldn't offer you much in the way of an objective opinion.

But they certainly are rare and therefore definitely worth some serious consideration!

Perhaps see if you can go and view it at least?
