C63 Coupe
Well I now understand all the hype. I picked up my new C63 Coupe on Friday and I’m very pleased with it (well I would be):bannana:

I flew down from Newcastle to Exeter and was kindly picked up by the supplying dealer. It sounds stupid for someone my age (41) but I was very nervous with my choice of colour & wheels combo but as soon as I seen it in the flesh I had a big sigh of relief. After going over some paperwork and other bits and pieces which I was totally not taking in as all I could think of was ‘shut up man and let me look at me wheels’.
Anyway the moment arrived and was handed the keys. I gave it a good going over externally and all was good. Looking inside I was also very happy with the colour choice on the seating. The rep was very good and explained everything in detail but again I was just too keen to get going as I had a 380 mile return journey. They had given her a full tank (always a nice touch) and the sat nav was set.
It really is hard to explain how the exhaust note on start up puts an instant smile on your face:rock:. Once underway I took it very easy getting to know the feel of the car (my first MB and first rear wheel drive car)on the few roads before I picked up the M5. Turning off the roundabout up the slip road I let the window down and there it was again, that smile.
After 20 miles or so I noticed that the car pulled slightly to the near side so at the next service I pulled in and checked the tyre pressures and they were spot on. A phone call to the supplier to explain and he took the details of my nearest MB dealer and informed me that he would phone them and get the car booked in for them to look at it and any costs would be picked up by him. So far no noises / squeaks from the dash :thumb:. However there seems to be a little rattle from the parcel shelf area in the back but I suppose that’s just me being picky. I’m no audiophile type of person but the quality of sound from the H&K system is fantastic.
I only stopped twice on the way home. Once for fuel and once to grab some bait and by time I got home I wish I had of taken the long way home. I did not feel tired one bit. However my hair was a mess and my teeth were full of flies as I had my head out the window most of the way home.:p
I was also very pleased with the fuel consumption. I took a steady 60-80 all the way and still had a return of approx 24mpg on an engine that only had 7 miles on the clock when I picked up.:D
Can’t wait to get that magic 1000k under the bonnet and have a play.
I'll miss the Go kart on speed feeling of my Focus RS but I'm very please with my choice of replacement

Love it, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you have two great soundtracks there. One inside and one outside.

Verrry Nice.
I assume you didn't actually drive your virginal vehicle with that in the cupholder!

I admit I did. :o didnt want to hang around in the services as I still had a few miles to go

That looks great.

That looks great. The noise is just fantastic, isn't it :D

Great fuel efficiency for the run back too. And as for waiting till 1000 miles (certainly better than 1000k miles :p), meh, I'd not worry about the engine. Obviously be slightly cautious of the gearbox and the brakes at this early stage, but the engine...it'll be fine. Mine saw 6500rpm before it saw 20 miles on the odometer...

That looks great Dappa. I had a change of mind today and at the 12th hour changed my order from a saloon to coupe but have kept to tenorite, silver 19s, HK and black leather. On seeing your coupe I know I have made the right choice:thumb:

Congratulations Dappa, looks great and not a colour wheel combo I have seen.

I run mine in following the book, 1000 will come and it will be like getting a new car all over again.

Have fun

good to see some colour in the interior

tenorite grey looks great too

I'm sure you'll be happy with your choice. There is way more room than I thought in the back seats and the front seats are so comfy ;)

Your right I'd be waiting for a long time for that magic 1000k eh. I've now got 600 miles on the clock so once it dries out a little I'll open the taps up a little. Just as an experiment mind so I can compare against my RS

Looks ace...congrats
