Thought I would give the 3m "fine polish" a go on the new project car.

3m yellow top with 3m yellow pad. Having previously used the chemical guys range, I am pretty happy with how a 1 stage polish came out.

I still have the blue top to try out, but maybe when there is more time. This took out 95% of the scratches from bushes etc in the clear coat.

You can’t go wrong with 3M stuff, their polishes and pad combos are decent

Not sure what tool you have but you can get their colour coded pads in different sizes, the spot pads are good for some of the smaller areas :thumb:

I had used a DAS 6 pro for years, but recently tried a rotary, I have started off with a cheapo screwfix with a 150mm backing.

I may go for a smaller cordless one with a smaller backing for the intricate bits.

I do wish I had masked up, I always regret not and cleaning up takes an age

If you buy a 3M headlight kit you’ll get the backing pad and spindle for the spot pads to use with any cordless drill. Should be handy :thumb:

Good idea! I may have some in my "headlight polish" box at the workshop.
