I like it but I’m biased

They look great don’t they! But, not quite right in my opinion with the raised 3 pointed star.
It is your choice of course!!! [emoji106]

I got used to having raised pointed star so for me it’s a must. Yes it can be a too much of stars at the front, but this is how I’d bought the car and can’t bother now changing the grill.

Is it easy to replace the star on the bonnet by a flat badge?

Just lift the bonnet and a half twist with pliers and it’s off. Badge has spring clip. Push badge down and using fingers underneath to get correct fit.

Agree. Either the plain grill with the raised star, or grill with the star and the flat badge IMO of course
Again completely upto car owner

aren't you the smart ass! c250 sport amg pack
I know what you meant, even has AMG straight after the model number in the v5 which mercedes gave the dvla to put in it

Lol it was a joke, doesn't really justify sticking on an AMG badge really though not that I care. Just thought if I was being a smart ass I'd go 100% :)

I've never had the raised star emblem on my R129 but I have swapped the standard multi slat grille for one the same style as this for the R129. I just thought it lifted the car a little bit and before the purists flame me it's a 10 minute or less job to swap it back to the original which I've kept. :)

I think the grill and flat badge smartens up a W211 quite nicely, so much so, I purchased one.

However I an having trouble locking the big star onto the grill, it will lock but remains loose and I'm afraid it will come off.

Before I go back to the seller on Ebay, did anyone else have problems or do you have any tips.

Thanks

Graham

I prefer the classic grill on the E Class.

As an aside, are AMG Sport/Line cars called AMGs on the V5 then?

I bought one off eBay a few years back for my W211 and the star was always a bit loose but never fell off. It’s quite a flimsy part when you open the bonnet compared to the stock grille. Good thing about the W212 is it attaches to the car as opposed to bonnet.

Thats like saying just because it says mercedes on the v5 its not actually a mercedes :p:D

To be fair that’s the model so I guess calling it AMG Sport is technically correct. But it’s the category called ‘type’ on the logbook hat determine

Cool, genuinely didn't know they called them AMGs on the V5, but I guess as you have an AMG Sport why wouldn't it say AMG Sport. However in the 'Type' section of your V5 it just says the model number 204, real AMGs would say 204 AMG or 212 AMG etc.
