Fitted new grille today

The W163 had standard grill, all black with chrome star, i wanted a chrome grill, but on a silver car, thought not worth the cost. What i did was bought a roll of 15mm self adhesive chrome detailing, and cut and stuck to the three bars, looks like your grill without the chrome surround, cost was £7.50, and a couple of hours removing and re fitting grill, I think it looks ok.

But we can't see it, post a pic please Joderest.

Morning Markssi wonder if you could assist me ? Clocked your new Grille and is outstanding, was wondering where you purchased your grille ? I have the E350 Coupe and have a similar grille difference being my two vents are colour coded and has silver trim. I lost the bottom trim below the Merc star in your picture or I think its called the lower trim grille moulding. Have been told by Merc I will have to replace the entire grille as they do not do the separate mouldings. My grille is spotless and only require the moulding. Do you know of any companies that do specific mouldings ? Have seen newer models mouldings but could end up being a very expensive fix for basically a metal trim...

Back to the V5C (sorry) but maybe they put AMG on it to help for insurance purposes ? is a car labelled 'AMG line' maybe more of a risk than the exact same diesel saloon without the AMG bits stuck on ? Not sure.

Either way My V5C says Model: C55 AMG AUTO..so it must be a real one ...right ?

Thanks for getting back to me Markssi. May have to be the option. My grill is colour co-ordinated so not as simple fix, want to keep the vehicle original. Very disappointing that Mercedes don't do the replacement trim and going to be a costly exercise for just a piece of moulding. Many lovers of their much prized Merc's on here including me but this has really pissed me off to the point of may be go for a change have had it a while now and not prepared to fork out the best part of £300 just for a piece of trim.....

Yes will post via my phone.. Heres another maybe silly question. Apologies in advance. Have noticed all E class models are pre-fixed with a W followed by 3 numbers. How will I find out my vehicles W number ? Seen a grille on Ebay for a E350 Coupe same front as mine but different grille but can maybe take the trim moulding for my grille ? What a carry on for a piece of trim. One to be aware of Gents....

2009 was a model change year, if your car does not have the circular headlights then it would be a W212.

It has the same front as your avatar on the white Mercedes. I think it is the C207 ? Have found a C207 grille fort my E Class but hesitant to purchase until I find my correct model.Going by wiki its the exact same shape and model... Some carry on .....

Just checked again yip your correct W212. The seller on Ebay is stating Mercedes E Class W207 Coupe Cab front grille 2009 212 brand new genuine . W207 and 212 is where I'm getting mixed up ???
