Flashing Lights

I'm sure this is related to another problem I have with the heating, but just incase..

Recently replaced the heater control panel, partly to try and fix the heat problem but also because the bulbs behind the fan and direction dials didn't work all the time, and other times they simply flashed.

Replacement panel was fine day 1, but has since returned to flashing when the car lights are off, but as soon as i turn side lights or headlights on the lights stop working on the dials???

Have a short, earthing problem, duff panel or is this something I can fix??

the problem you describe would normaly be the panel, but you say it has happened to two seperate panels? that is either bad luck, or more complicated than it first seems.

we have replaced two of these over many years of working on c-class cars for the same fault, each time it was cured.

I also have same problem with the flashing lights and have replaced the panel with the same outcome.Any suggestions?
