Flashing Red Alarm

Can anyone tell me why the red alarm lights (on mirror and driver door) continuosly flashes when the alarm is set. The car is a 95 N reg C200 and Only just purchased - also the battery flattens over a period of a day or two. Could the problems be related. The battery has recently been chaged
My other M reg C200 does not flash after the initial setting.

In my car the alarm flashes a couple of times when its armed then the leds pulse every 11-15 seconds to show the car is alarmed. When disarmed it flashes 3 times then off unless the alarm has been triggered at some point then it flashes 5 times before going off. That's on an w124 of the same vintage. I wonder if one of your doors isn't locking properly?

Flashing alarm

thanks, the red lamp flashes approx every 15secs, so maybe it is right. I cannot find anything in the manual that confirms this is correct. It is just that I have got used to my other C200 which does not flash after the initial setting period.

Flashing lights - most likely cause is an almost flat keyfob battery. both the red and green should flat for 2mins

Change it and all should be well.
