I'm going to write to my local council to complain about the freezing fog we have here in the Midalnds. I believe it's all down to the members who told the highways department to get rid of the fog clearing machines as they felt it was unproductive to have them standing around for 300 days of the year.

I've started an online petition for downing street as Gordon Brown must bear some reponsibility by cutting funding for fog clearing equipment.

Please sign the petition and write to your MP.

That's what you get for voting Labour.

The old scocialist manifesto had a thing against fog cleaning, stating that it was a frivalous toy of the bourgeoisie, and a selfish waste of the Poeples time and money. In fact, I'm sure they called for their use to be a capital offence.

It all depends what type of fog it is ...
The fog that comes out of the mouths of bureaucrats ...
Or ... The "People's Fog"

Very old joke about a Labour Politician being interviewed by a radio hack.
Hack "If you had two million pounds would you give one million away"
Immediate answer "Yes"
"If you had two yachts would you give one away"
Immediate answer "Yes"
"If you had two pairs of shoes would you give one away"
Politicians pauses.
Hack "Why do you need to think about it?"
Politicain says "Well I have two pairs of shoes"

Other political parties are available - Vote in May for your favourite colour:D
Infraction accepted. I'll get me coat.

Leaving the irony to one side for a moment, the first time I drove my W204 in freezing fog I found it hard not to keep glancing occasionally at the star on the front which was becoming larger and more furry with every mile driven. It also took me a while to realise why, when driving in "ordinary" fog, I kept getting what looked like raindrops on the windscreen, but only in the centre. Then I twigged...

OK, back to the irony :D

Perhaps while your complaining about the fog you could also try and complain about the recent snow ?
i have serious doubts if even our prime minister can do that much about the prevailing weather conditions, and suspect that Gordon Brown may indeed be the wrong person to talk to, when in fact you may find it more productive to raise your point when (god forbid) you should finally reach the "pearly gates"

Reminds me of British Rail having problems with the wrong type of rain or snow.

Being an atheist means that I only have one person to blame, and that's our old presbytarian friend Gordon. He seems keen enough to take the credit and show us that terrible 'smile' he does when the sun shines(we're 23.7% sunnier under New Labour than the last Tory government.....etc.), so he can take the blame when the weather goes **** up too as far as I'm concerned.

How is it that Inuit having 400 words or whatever the true number is for snow fascinates us yet everybody derides the notion of "wrong snow"?

As anybody who has ever gone backwards into a tree in Autumn can attest* leaves on the line shouldn't be sneered at either.

Please note this a fog thread, posts about snow will be treated with derision. :o

Back on topic, we need to look at the viability of these fog clearing devices.

It will give all the fog light fanatics a reason to have them on. Its doesn't happen often, so make the most of it.
