I just fitted a new body coloured grille to continue the black theme with as little chrome as possible to the CLK, I like the result but am not happy with the original bonnet star with it.

What options have I for the badge? any ideas welcome.

Also I am thinking of painting the wheel centres black and leaving the lip polished any thoughts or does anyone have pictures of a smilar look?

Here are the wheels last sunny day in the UK was the day my wife picked it up!

You could fit a flat bonnet badge, or maybe get the badge removed and the hole smoothed over and sprayed?

Black wheels with a silver lip do look good, although I like the wheels as they are!

Yes a flat bonnet badge like you find on the SLK or ML. Wheels look great as they are to be honest :)

Found a few flat badges on gay bay...........................thanks for the help. I would love to see any pictures off black painted split rims if anones has any.

Only one I can show is a Cavalier! Does look good though, especially when moving.....:)

that is what they have in the USA only on 19" rims, I almost had my old AMG wheels done that way, as your photo shop picture.

the EBay USA wheels have a little more of the rim polished it goes up to the spokes

Deffo flat bonnet badge - easy peasy jobby - far superior look than a bonnet and grille star.

Wheels - like what you have but they do look good in black too. Winner whatever you do I reckon.

i'm more worried about the fact your're letting the 'little lady' drive her. wheels look good either way, but prefer the bonnet star, its nice to see it when you drive along.

The car belongs to the "Little Lady" and she finds it slow compared to the M3's she has owned for the last few years.........................might not keep it long to be honest, we are on the look out for a black CL55 AMG at the right spec and price.

She has decided that she likes the wheels as they are as well, I have bought a flat badge for the front just waiting for delivery, it does look daft with the two badges on the front in sight at the same time.

If your not going to keep it then I would be loathe to modify it in any way.

She will keep it for the summer (?) at least so its worth getting a few minor things done that are niggling me, the chrome grille was not nice and thats led to the badge change, I am adding a Command unit that I got for it cheap as that will help it sell and she could do with Sat Nav in the mean time.

I'm afraid that I am a serial modifier.........................
