Bought new front pads today for my S210 E280. When I got them home i noticed that the box said "CLK 3.2".

Does anybody know if these are the same as the ones I need?

Can anybody offer any advice on fitting them? I presume that I need to remove the calipers to get the old pads out.

Can't help with what pads you have - the only way to be sure is to check part numbers against VIN number. What I would venture to suggest is that perhaps you've never changed pads before. If that's the case, I'd suggest you get your local indy to do it for you - you don't want to be taking chances with brakes.

But, surely, there has to be a first time...how else do you learn?

True, but years ago I bought some parts from a crashed car after one of the front pad retaining pins came out and it jammed the brake on at an unforgiving bend.

That's not a fair comment. :(

As it happens, I also learnt from someone competent looking over my shoulder. But my experience does not stretch to Mercedes. Let's face it, although brakes are safety critical, they're not complicated technology, are they? The hardest part is usually unscrewing the seized bolts that hold the caliper on!!

So, I was just after a heads up before I start, if there is anything unusual or tricky about my 210 pads (eg special tools required). (I think that is the point of this technical forum):o.

So, now I've cleared that up, any advice? Or does anybody know of the process being documented anywhere on the web (I haven't found it).

What are the calipers like? Twin piston, sliding calipers?:dk:

Single piston, sliding callipers.

Undo the sliding pins and pull the calliper off.

Don't worry about all the opinions that get offered, every thread has to be done to death here before any real information is forthcoming.

Thank you very much. :thumb:
Was going to tackle it today, but got rained off. Expecting rain tomorrow too, so will try to have a go next weekend.
