hi

I would like to borrow a fuel pump relay for a 1989 190e 2.0lt to rule that out as being my acceleration problem, if anyone has one lying around

cheers paul

I have more FPRs than you can shake a stick at. Post the part number.

found these on EPC, dont know if there any use

(Relay) A003 545 20 05 replaced by :-
(Relay Fuel Pump Cut-Off) A002 545 21 05 (upto end of model year 89)

when it stops raining I'll get the one out of the car... prob tomorrow

Had a look tonight but could not locate location of relay, behind battery there is the OVP, Kickdown relay and ECU and another thing same size as ECU. guessing for abs

where is the fuel pump relay located

It should be right around that area behind the battery where the other ecus live, possibly inboard & a fraction lower.

I have an 003 545 20 05 from a J reg 190E 2.0 auto. If you PM your address I'll send it to you & you can see if it solves your problem.

TBH it doesn't sound like a FPR. AFAIK they are either on or off & they don't sort of work or work a bit. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's 100% or nothing.

your right, bit more reseach and all it does is prime the pump, so if faulty car would not start or just die..

hi paul, now you know where the fuel pump relay is, take it out, and look on the underside of it, and you will see each pin has a number, find numbers 15 and 87, get a piece of wire and put it in where the plug would fit, when you turn on the ignition, the pump will run all the time, so the car will run, that is a get you home mode, if it does not then it is something entirely different, dave
