full decat exhaust system, on E55

Hi All
the car I got has full decat system and is brutal... does the E55 have 4 cats? does this mean all the cats have been removed off my car.... as I was led to believe the modification resulted in 2 CATS still being present. Anyway the reason I ask is because its got an almighty roar.... and is spot on with the E63's that hover about in Hampstead and St Johns Wood.... I worry about for MOT purposes and the fact the red car embassy police are so over zealous... they would pull me over and ring insurance company and do full check over including mods (past experience confirms this)

These car came with 4 cats.

If it has headers etc done. It is mire than likely its had all the cats removed.

But what i have seen is the primary cats removed when headers are fitted and the secondary cats kept in place.

When is the mot due.

Reading your posts makes me think you are yet to declare the mods (Kleemann remap etc) to your insurnce company.
Can I ask what premium you are paying now to see how it compares with mine?

Im stuck at present... I renewed insurance with my old company at end of June 2013 with my old car as didn't expect to buy the E55... could have been worse as my company ADMIRAL could have said no to the mods I done... anyway I told them about the wheels, tints but not much else... they said they wouldn't cover these and it didn't effect the premium... considering the policy is protected and there is just my wife named on the policy we paid £900 as there is 1 x accident that I had to state as well.... I had to pay and extra £400 over my previous car (BMW X3 2.5 sports) I am more than sure when renewal occurs 2014 I can get this figure down but if I cancelled this fairly new policy and went to a new company, don't think I would gain any benefit

the work would have been done by MSL... I may give them a ring tomorrow... I have receipt for the work... but Im sure I heard that 2 x cats remain. Mot is due 2014 January. I think when insurance is up I will have the luxury of stating the full mods to new company. but the fact is the car may only see 4000 miles in the year and is only an occasional car.... wife for shopping etc then I may leave insurance as is

if you have kleemann headers the primary cats will be deleted, if any additional works are done to the exhaust, secondary cats, resonator and tail boxes may be removed or a combination of either, all resulting in full on exhaust tone, but potential in the wrong combination, MOT grief at the appropriate time, MSL will be able to tell you what's what if they know the history of this car.
Regards insurance, really is best to flag this and any other mods you have fitted up to them, best to be safe than sorry at a later date. I have numerous mods to my own car and all, (bar one) are notified to my insurance company, and whilst I totally appreciate it's very post code orientated these days, my insurance has not gone up a great deal, just spent a load of money actually getting the modifications done, the increased insurance cost has been very minor.

I would be interested to hear if your going up to Acid's (Jerry) party next Saturday? lots of us going up, you will get to meet up. and learn lots!!

I will probably disclose to insurance that I have aftermarket exhaust... will keep it vague I think... will try for this Saturday but due to nature of my work... I cant confirm till Friday but love to meet up with some of the guys from this site!!
