Hi.
As above a distinct smell of funds in the cabin and low MPG. I'm guessing a injector?

Can somebody shed any light?

Thanks

VISUAL INSPECTION is the first thing. Modern engines are hidden with engine covers for aesthetic and sound deadening reasons. Remove these and get the engine warmed up and start to look for any pooling of fuel or oil that might suggest a leak-this might be evident as " smoke" [ wear eye protection] At the same time listen for any hissing that might be an indication of exhaust leaks from a cracked manifold etc. If the engine has not been kept relatively clean - they all leak eventually! ---its just a matter of how much---- then it might be wise to give it a bit of a clean up first. good luck.

Might be the notorious 'black death' which is a leaking injector. I had this on my old W211 that I first noticed as fumes getting into the cabin. With the bonnet open and the engine idling, mine had a kind of chuffing noise from the top of the engine. With the plastic cover off, you can hear it more clearly and, if it is this, you will be able to see which injector is the culprit.
The injectors are a complete swine to remove and, in my experience, best left to a specialist who knows what they are doing. Also, if it is this then don't leave it too long as it will only become more difficult to remove.

Thanks guys
