Galvanised or not?

I have read various articles on the dates from which various models were galvanised. The problem is being sure for cars 53 - 04 - 54 (possibly)

I am thinking of W209 CLK270. Would a facelift model be sure to be a galvanised one?

Any reports of rust on this age of car?

Yes, I have a copy of that - its a question of knowing whether or not a car from the changeover period was treated.

Not sure whether you'd be able to tell from the documentation ... e.g. the galvanised 639 (new shape) Vitos have a 12 year bodywork warranty.

2003 211 is deffo galvanised. Except the muppets weld through the galvanising then coat it in a micro-thin paint. Result? Hundreds of rusty spotwelds everywhere.

No, it doesn't look rusty, but there again my current one didn't look rusty when I bought it 2 1/2 years ago....it does now
