Gl500

Volvo XC has to have all wheels and tyres within 3.5% of each other wrt rolling circumference if not it damages the diffs on the 4x4 system. Most Volvo owners get around this by just replacing the affected tyre with a part worn one of same tread depth meaning you don't have to replace all 4

Absolutely bonkers ,don't think the old panda 4+4 suffered that problem as you say progress

How about a V8 Audi Q7? The roof line was too low for us (on the inside) when we looked at launch.

I think I should go for an S8 and an XKR. The wife and kids (4) can travel in the Audi and I can travel in peace with the roof down listening to supercharged v8 :)

I'm slightly confused, are you asking for suggestions as to a replacement?

The GL is going to a specialist for the Star diagnostics this week, which could spell an early death for the beast. In which case I will be employing a large digger to bury!!!! Then I will go back to the Jeep Commander which just gets on with the job, without spitting the dummy out every week with problems such as the GL.

Don't buy a GL 500

Saw an ad recently for a GL 500 with EML on and hence the ad read "would make a good export" - translated to mean get this heap out of my sight

Blimey....sounds like a complete lemon....sounds like you need to head off to WeBuyAnyCars

Hey fellow MB fans
Just back from a very enjoyable holiday with the family in our reliable GL........oooooops

Sorry, my wife and 4 kids enjoyed visiting a Merc specialist as the quality engineering of Mercedes Benz went into limp mode as my wife tried to drive between tourist attractions at 40 mph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently I now need to invest in a gearbox speed sensor, which is not uncommon when my friendly independent specialist said 'this is quite common, I have replaced a few'

Surely somebody out there has had enough of this sub standard engineering and is willing to show some balls and tell Merc where they can stick their prestigious mark!!

I'd get rid double quick.

In fact, I'd have got rid a long time ago but that ship has obviously sailed...
