How the hell does one get it streak and spot free!!! :wallbash:

I've tried most things but still have rain / water spots.

Inside, I find it impossible to get the screen smear free. :dk:

Any advice? Please?

Household Windowlene spray + Piece of cloth, works everytime!

Tried it and yes its good (as is Mr Muscle) but it still streaks and especially inside, causes 'blooming'....

I just use household window cleaning spray and newspaper, works for me.

I use newspaper for the headlining..

Seriously though, I use good quality kitchen towels and Mr Muscle or similar.
When cleaning the windscreen I do it in two halves because if you try to complete the whole screen in one attempt, the cleaner has dried by the time you reach the other end of the screen.

I have two sets of kitchen towels 3-4 pieces per set - one wet and one dry.

I always clean my windows when it is cool - in hot weather the cleaner evaporates before you get much of a chance to work with it, resulting in smearing.

Autoglym Fast Glass, never use anything else.

Windowlene and a fine microfibre cloth. But always make sure that the cloth doesn't get used for anything else - ie. for spray on wax etc.

.

Try using autoglym glass polish (cream) rather than a spray. A bit more work but better results

Oh and clean your wiper blades.......amazing how they will cause a streaking on the cleanest glass....

Have some and tried numerous occasions but still no joy :(

Now have some Mer glass cream. Smells like Windolene! Seems to work well but by 'eck does it create dust

Certaily couldn't use it on the interior glass...

Yep! I give those a good wipe when cleaning the car.

Regarding the inside of the windscreen and because you have applied so much cleaner get a CLEAN cloth and some cold water and wash the glass, then use a professional window-cleaners squeegee that has a blade of no more than 6 inches in length to wipe off the water, mop up and remove any streaks/drips with kitchen paper towel or scrunched up newspaper.

Always clean glass out of the sunshine.

I wash the exterior glass with water then dry with a clean synthetic leather that is never used on the car body work. With the glass just damp I finish off with industrial paper towel which leaves a smear and streak free finish. I find kitchen towel smears.

Inside I use the same process but with the leather almost dry.

I find Fast Glass hard to use for a perfect smear free finish.

I hope this helps.

Windowlene and kitchen towling for me. Fresh piece of kitchen towel added to the handfull as i work my way round the car. Do both the inside and out with this method.

I agree about doing the windscreen and back window in two halfs

I find it the best and i have tried many producks.

I use two cloths both have to be clean one for on and one for off, no smears what so ever.

Agree with all the comments here so far.

I think your problem might be that you're trying to clean the glass in the sunlight on a warm day.

Wait until early evening time and try again.

If you haven't got clean cloths, use some paper towel. Clean it a couple of times, using new cloths/towel the second time.

Then your glass will be spotless

If it's really, really grubby to start with, you can 'clay' the glass and polish it with a proper glass polish (messy/dusty), but 95% of the time, AG fast glass/windowlene etc work fine :)

The MER 'screen cleaner seems to have done the job :)

Used Mr Muscle on the inside and even remembered to partly open the windows to clean the top edges :thumb:

AG fast glass followed by the glass polish seems to work well. I find the fast glass can leave a smear, but using the polish with a perfect polishing cloth afterwards brings them up a treat
