I'm thinking of cancelling my order for a GLC 43 AMG (the estate not coupe version) in view of the steering issues that everyone appears to be suffering.

A new higher spec GLE 43 AMG is 10K more on drivethedeal or (for about the same money as the GLC), I can get into a 12 month old GLE 450 coupe, which is the same car they are now badging as the GLE 43 AMG coupe.

I do like the look of the GLE coupes...about a second slower to 60 than the GLC though.

or then there's an 2017 Audi SQ5 Plus for a 5K less.

Oh, decisions............:wallbash:

First world problems!

I'd take any of them :)

I know that doesn't help :dk:

I'd go for the Audi, saying that as a GLC43 owner. It is now coming out that it isn't just the GLC and C affected but also the E. I wonder how long before the GLE owners start reporting the issues.

Only shame is that the Audi is a diesel :(

I really don't think this problem is going to be resolved as the Porsche Panamera 4s which probably cost's around £75,000+ suffers from the same 'Condition' and if Porsche Can't/Don't/Won't engineer this out then what chance have MB owners got. My view is that you either live with it -normally during the winter months- or get a different car. The quote below is from Pistonheads after testing the new E43.

''As in the C-Class though there seems to be some clunkiness in the application of the system. In the C43 we noticed some chuntering on full lock and at low speeds, such as pulling out of parking spaces. In the E43 it's arguably even more noticeable, the front wheels 'skipping' as if there's some transmission wind or a locked diff somewhere in the system. Interestingly the Porsche Panamera 4 S we've got in at the moment does the same thing, albeit to a lesser extent and Mercedes is promising to get back to us since raising the issue.''

exactly!!! and all Audis since about 1999 look exactly the same as all other Audis since then....it was a bit surreal at the dealership.

Plus the 5.1s 0-60 apparently doesn't feel like it.

Indeed, and I found the same with BMW hence I ended up at Mercedes...

But how about a Jaguar F-Pace Supercharged, or an Alfa Romeo Stelvio?
