GLC Issues

Not sure if you have already said but have you considered/tried an Audi Q5?

I tried the Q5 before getting the GLC, I also have galloping arthritis and spodylosis (curvature of spine) The Q5 was shocking! the seats were wide but very hard, they hurt within the hours test drive.
I have the GLC 250 AMG with premium pack, not all singing all dancing.
The only thing I did was have the black alacantra leather replaced with soft grey leather from a specialist. The difference was amazing both in comfort and looks. The only problem I have is the "vehicle too close warning" it really annoys me and goes off at the weirdest of times.
I hope you get your problems sorted.
Maybe look at the Lexus?

Hey Bluelights,

Finally someone who knows exactly what it is like to wear my shoes, though I feel sorry as I would wish this on no one.
- I'll private message you.

The garage I purchased from want to take the car away for a bit to do their own independent tests, so next week they are gonna give me a new 2017 GLC sport, that way I can see if its characteristics differ from the GLC AMG 250D that I currently drive.

Does the Sport have the same suspension as your car? My AMG has coil springs, so is pretty bullet proof, I wanted a car to take me into older age, with this in mind I looked at something to be comfortable with my conditions, lots of toys but nothing too complicated as it wont be under warranty for ever.

I don't know, i will look it up the spec when I get the car reg, I did consider the air suspension originally when buying but I was nervous as the dealers didn't have a test car. Not sure if cars with air suspension suffer with crabbing?

I've had a few disappointments with this car, though I must admit it has by far the best seat position and seat that I have found on the market, for my condition. I have severe ankylosing spondilitis.

Changing it to something else, unfortunately isn't really an option, so I need the faults fixed.

I got all the bells and whistles as I need them due to my condition, but found most of the technology half works, which isn't good for me as I rely on it.

Glad you only have the distance to car in front sensor issue, from my experience the issue with that is the sensor is only looking every 1.5-2.0 secs, it randomly detects and you can't turn it permanently off. Though I think I've got the warning buzzer turned off... Will check next time I go for a drive

Regards

Richard

I'll be interested if you could give more details on the leather replacement, who did it, costs, etc

Even with the seats being the best I can find for my condition, i still have problems, they are a bit unforgiving which causes problems in hips/quads/thighs
