The gap between the wheels and the wheel arches on the disco looks weird, almost like it was in the process of being jacked-up.

Look forward to the comparison write up. Make sure you are clear about model and spec as these cars can be very sensitive to exact model!!

OUCH! £57k and limited discounts on what is in effect a smarter Freelander with a couple of occasional seats.

Glc

Dealer still insists there is NOT a problem with the GLC?
I phoned another dealer saying I had a 6 month old GLC I wanted to sell they offered me £17 thousand pounds less than new?
They said it was due to the faults that MB are unalbe to fix?
F-pace it is then.

Out of interest what do you think it would be worth if it didn't have these ''faults''? Also are there any of a similar age/spec in the MB network up for sale as it would be interesting to see what they are asking for them? Actually lost this thread a little as you are looking to change to another SUV so if it's an F Pace you have to sell your GLC and take whatever you can get. Yes?

I'm glad you caught then out - dealer salespeople lying about there being no faults is just outrageous.

There's a waiver about the crabbing issue kicking around that some dealers are making people sign before they'll accept an order.

Anyone who knows about this would have to be a bit bonkers to order a GLC. Even if you can live with it, it's going to murder the cars used value.

Don't honestly think that in 3-4 years time the residual value of GLC's on a MB forecourt will reflect any of the outrage being seen at the moment. Many cars appear to do this -some very expensive ones at that- and don't think they have suffered as a result. The only thing that may be against the GLC is if its that much worse. Incidentally the Jag F-Pace also suffers from crabbing but probably not as bad as the Merc.

Hi Guys,
Just dropped back in here as wondering what to get now.
I am dropping my 3.0d S F-Pace back to the dealer today as I have rejected the vehicle due to the ongoing inability to fix the tech. The car overall was fantastic to drive, but the ICTP (in control touch pro) which is the infotainment upgrade has never worked properly - especially with lots of other goodies added as well. JLR knew this when they launched but have essentially been in denial about it. I have had the car 8 months, and have never washed it because it is always back into the dealers for another looking at or more software. There are a number of ongoing issues with the F-Pace from panel alignment to the electronics.
One thing that everyone agrees on though is that the drive is spectacular - the way it handles will give almost anything a run for it's money - and I'm not just talking about other SUV's.
I like the look of the velar, but can't stomach the thought of being a JLR guinea pig again.
I was thinking of the GLE, but need to do a bit more research.

Personally, I really like the GLE and the ML which went before it. They're not a common sight on the road, they're well made, and launch bugs haven well and truly squashed. If you've not driven one, have a test drive :thumb:

I spoke to my dealer yesterday, he confirmed that there most definitely IS a problem, and Mercedes are aware that it doesn't just affect the GLC too.

He confirmed that he has been sent a waiver by Mercedes to get all new owners to sign, however he refuses to do this.

Mercedes knows that there's a problem.....and they know it's gaining momentum!

He thinks that there will be a recall issued eventually, but that's definitely not MBs official stance on the matter.

We have had about 30 or so with electrical problems
Tailgate issues and lack of power
