So where's the poll? :)

Typing your post as I was typing my poll.

I voted ugly, and for the money if I needed AWD I'd buy a used ML or new Q5 if I was after a SUV as they do have their benefits, A4/6 Avant if I just needed AWD. If I didn't need either I'd have a W204 estate.

None of the above ;)

Think it's quite good looking for a mini SUV, not my type of vehicle though (nothing to do with "stigma").

I would rather stick hot needles in my eyes than own a GLK ...

Someone else commented that you can stick a premium badge on the ugliest thing there is and people will still buy it . I agree.

Must be a designer at MB with a deathwish (where did Bangle go to after BMW just a thought), quite unique a 4X4 that even 4X4 lovers are going to hate.

gary

I quite like it, would make a nice car for the missus, but if we were in the market for an SUV / 4x4 I'd rather get her a used ML or a Cayenne :o (ducks for cover!)

They have a good range of 4x4's. The ML sits above the X3 and below BMW's X5. Its the perfect size of car for a family. The GL is too if you carry bigger loads.

I don't see how the GLK adds value to Mercs line up. If I am after a 4x4 I want the attributes of a 4x4. The GLK doesn't offer these IMO. A far more interesting offering would have been a C class 4matic.

I tested a Porka Cayenne. It was seriously good to drive, and a nice size too. Couldn't have afforded it, but the saleswoman didn't know that :D:cool:

its marmite, love it or hate it,

looks like it was designed by a student who only knew 3 commands in his CAD package, if we can find out who it is I can teach him all about the fillet tool,

You just know that somewhere in Bottrop, something not too dissimilar to this is being tested in a wind tunnel, right now.

I can't see myself ever buying a 4x4.

And I certainly wouldn't buy any car that looked like this!

I have to see things in the flesh (steel) before I can make up my mind :o :o To me pictures never give a proper idea of size or true shape. :o :o

Regards
John

I'd not realized anyone else had missed the R5.

Well, I can if someone is asking me if it's good-looking.

What an acheivement. There should be an award for that. Even Chris Bangle didn't manage to produce such a horror alothough he tried hard with the X3

X3 was a failure as it not made by Beemer but subcontracted to a company in Austria. Overprice not in line with X5. As they said it better to buy the X5 than X3 for the same price.

ML and GLK are different kettles.
