Glovebox help

Hi all,
i Managed to wedge my glovebox shut today and cannot for the life of me get it open.

Can someone please a) remind me whether unlocked is with the lock horizontal as i believe it is. b) if there is any other way of getting into it.

At the moment im just making a mess of me dashboard

ok no worries, managed to get it open. Tried a few more brute force attempts with some string and managed it.
Bit hard to type this as my fingers are completely numb !
