Glow plug light

It's flashing. Could I safely leave the fix to the next service or does it need prompter attention?
 
If the car is starting without any difficulties, I'd probably leave it.
 
I could be wrong (feel free to correct) on this - but I had a similar problem on my e280 and read on some forum that:
a) if you don't have it checked it can damage the relay which is more expensive. In my case it turned out to be the relay anyway
b) they are more for emissions than starting these days
 
Glow plug(s) or relay fault. Needs plugging in.
