Glow plugs

Hi im new here. My glow plug light is staying on for a few minutes after i start my clk220cdi on a "55" , has anyone got a rough idea what i should pay for fitted replacements? I live in hastings, east sussex if anyone can point me to a local garage. Cheers scdeep.

Hi scdeep. I had this same problem with my E320 CDI what i found out sometimes it isnt the glow plugs it could also be the relay. I went to mercedes who quoted me £500! took it to a mates got all 6 replaced using same mercedes boosch plugs.. light still remained on. In my case it was the relay so wasted money there. Just be aware a computer diagnostics will point out glow plugs but doesnt mean it is could be other things.

If the light stays on after start then goes out its more likely to be just the glow plug at fault, as the engine warms up its not required anymore, staying on all the time could be the relay as previously stated.

The glow plugs are about £15 each plus 0.3 hours per plug roughly
