Moving soon. If anyone can recommend a good independent Merc specialist in the general vicinity of M25 Jn17 or 18, or along the Met Line (but no further into London than Harrow), I'd be very grateful.

That's who I would have recommended too. Used them a couple of times now. However, if you don't mind travelling further afield, Olly at PCS is excellent.

No, PCS is Prestige Car Service in Horndean (nr Portsmouth). It's worth the trip. However as I said Wheels VT (just between High Wycombe & Beaconsfield, M40 J3) seem decent too.
