Good parts site;

they arent bad for oem spec service stuff, some genuine mercedes stuff, also some naff stuff., also GSF are abt the same.

I have used them reasonable price and quick ordering service if it's not in stock
We have a Vito at work and most of the parts come from these people.

ECP even stock Jap parts these days - I'll likely be placing an order for a few bits for Snr Dazzlers Honda soon unless the dealer can do a sensible price.

Thanks...a very useful link for a newcomer !!

Agree its a very useful retailer for parts. Even better for me, I live about 200yards from one:D

Always make sure you also get a price for any parts from the main dealers before parting with cash at ECP or GSF.

I have found on a few occasions that the dealers were actualy cheaper than either of these and on some occasions only a few £ more exspensive. In which case i got the parts from the dealers as id rather have a dealer recipt to keep with my history file.

ECP also have a history(with me)of sending the wrong parts out. It seems if they havent got the correct part in stock, they just find the nearest one to it and send that rather than trying to get the right part.

The dealers are quite resonable on service items too such as spark plugs, brake disks and pads and filters etc.

My experience too - and are dealer parts departments are often prepared to do deal too.

ECP are often generic parts are NOT chassis specific, so your car will end up being well off 100% original, even IF the parts actually fit your model.

I would prefer to pay the small extra as a guarantee that the part will fit first time every time and perform exactly as the original part, and with 2 years gurantee.

i used euro parts quite a lot until they tried to sell me a set plug leads for my volvo 850, they looked just like early ford escort leads( 4 leads,.+coil lead for 5 a cylinder engine) ,no cap extensions or grommets and the urchin behind the counter insisted they were correct.i got the correct ones for the same price at unipart.never been back since

ECP will do a deal to - infact just ringing/turning up usually gets you a cheaper price than the web site, then if you ask if they can do any better you may get a bit more off on top.

But also check the dealers - as others have said they can be cheaper on some parts (from personal experince VX dealers are the cheapest place for batteries, and others have posted that MB dealers where cheapest when they needed a battery).

i liked the information which you have produced in this thread..ECP are often generic parts are NOT chassis specific, so your car will end up being well off 100% original, even IF the parts actually fit your model.

Well i've had some shopping experiences a while ago with this site

and i can't say that i got the worst deal

my deal were pretty much fair and satisfactory

all you people out there should give it a chance

ECP are like the curate's egg "good in parts" [unintentional pun alert!:o]They used to stock almost nothing but OEM parts sourced direct from Germany= MB quality parts at 1/2 main dealer prices. However now the provenance of their parts is not so certain with some cheaper stuff sourced from outwith Europe. Your local motor factor might be a better bet with stuff like febi-bilstein and the like.- or even your local MB dealer.
