I've had to say goodbye to my trusty late 2012 C180 (Gretchen) recently. She served me very well. I bought her in 2018 with about 52,000 miles on the clock and put on 56,000 miles (give or take) in 4.5 years of ownership. It wasn't the best specced version of the W204, but other than that, it was a lovely car to own.
I had to change the thermostat at about 105,000 miles, changed the third (high-mounted) brake lights at bout 90 something thousand miles, the artico in the drivers seat ripped (had this fixed at AS Pickering in Bradford who did a great job) and the driver's interior door handle failed about 90,000 miles as well. That's the list. Everything else spent on the car were just normal wear and tear type stuff like changing tyres and changing bulbs. Never had any nasty or expensive repair bills and more importantly, she never stopped. In all the time I owned the car, it never, ever broke down and was never undriveable (except in heavy snow of course).
I did have a W206 on order but after waiting 12 months with no build date, I pulled the trigger on a lovely 2019, beautifully specced, W205 with only 2,700 miles on the clock that I found on Autotrader. Say hello to Ingrid.
