The only place you can get a converter is to source an ML adapter lead that is about 20cm long. In the very early ML there was no HRS connector and the cable was left short on purpose. Thus it was possible to buy the extension.

Although I say this with one precaution. I dont know if the genders are correct.

The only other source is MBENZNL or eBay. Its not a MB part at all. You must buy the adapter or the modified part.

would you happen to know a part number?
the highlighted cable looks to be correct.

Actually it is a MB part and the part number is A203 540 70 06 which is a HRS to Wiclic adapter cable.

Indeed, and here's a pic of said cable ...

Would you prefer to have all that cable inside your dashboard. I can think of at least 3 reasons why it would require someone like Ali-G to shove all that cable into the void behind the COMAND and around the place.

As far as I know there is a 1 foot version for ML.

There is no such thing as a dashboard GPS antenna with a HRS connector. Although there is nothing to stop you from buying a modified OEM version with the HRS plug attached.

Got that behind mine no problem, plenty of space. I agree that a shorter version would be preferable ...

Here's what Steve K had to say:

every single OEM MB GPS antenna comes with that same wicklick connector...the 203, 209 and 230 partnumbered GPS antenna are all alike with the only difference that the cable is a bit shorter for the 209 antenna and a lot shorter for the 230 antenna...but they do all use the same wicklick antenna - so you had to use that extension cable anyways.

Never said that there was a MB dashboard antenna with a HRS connector, but rather that the adapter cable was a MB part. Becker or was it Blaupunkt sells HRS terminated GPS aerials as well.

As far as I remember the ML one is the wrong Wiclic connector so it does not attach to the MB GPS aerials, but yes it would be great if it was that short. Still it is not difficult to hide the extra on that lead.

Does anyone other than Mercedes make an under dashboard antenna with HRS ?

Underdash no, Dash mount yes. But in reference to your question neither does Mercedes make one with HRS so hopefully this answers your question.
