Gutted :(

No way! Glad he stayed though, as has been said, it is rare for people not to do a runner straight away! Hope it is sorted quickly for you and at no expense to you.

The world is surreal at times. Had the car back Friday afternoon and would you believe it when parked at a red light an old t***** knocked into the rear again. Luckily no damage at all but he was obviously chatting to this old bag at the back and took the foot off the brake. I was so ****** off and had a huge go at him just stunned how people drive / behave in the traffic.

You're a real charmer aren't you?

And you are the one stunned at how people behave?

Well if you'd just had a damage to your car fixed 48 hours before only for someone even at a red light managing to knock into you I would in your case assume you would take them to dinner for being pleasantly inattentive, busy on managing everything else than driving and then saying when you approach them "did I drive into you"

I have personal values, I would not have a 'huge go' at an elderly person because they made a mistake which caused me absolutely no harm whatsoever.

You sound like an emotional basket-case if I'm honest.

Man-up!

Just as a slight aside ( open popcorn) on the subject of confronting elderly drivers. Many years ago I came across an elderly gentleman who at 85 was still a giant bear of a man- must have been at least 6.5 ft tall with hands the size of large dinner plates. Fought for some partisan group during ww2. Eccentric as they come- his party piece was to remove his shirt and show everyone half a dozen massive scars from bullets in his shoulders and upper chest. His friend told me that during the war a German mg team had shot him and he went down. To their horror he got up and charged at them . The team was so scared that they turned tail and ran but the guy caught up with the slowest and ...well you can guess what he did with the enemy' s own bayonet . His wife told me that he dug the bullets out himself with the same bayonet hence the reason for the gigantic scars. The guy was an absolute menace on the road as the very battered state of his red Escort testified. I sometimes saw him in town being confronted by annoyed drivers .... and I hoped that they didn't carry anything sharp and pointy with them. I guess the moral of the story is that you never really know who you are confronting.

Completely agree and we only had a discussion nothing like an argument but I just couldn't understand that it had happened again with potentially all the sorting out etc. and just the fact that he started "did I hit you" was unbelievable.

People that are that oblivious shouldn't be on the road

Pisser mate but atleast it wasn't doors/quarter panel! Same thing happened to me, just a few hours work to remove the bumper and paint (unless he's cracked the bumper)

Imagine how I felt last week .... :(

Seems to be a rule of the Universe that annoying things don't happen one at a time particularly apparent with cars .

The second incident would have boiled my p*** I'm afraid. Yes its only a car but these fools shouldn't be on the road if they are careless enough to hit someone waiting stationary at the lights!
