Subject: Fw: VERY URGENT - THIS IS NOT
IF A PERSON CALLED SIMON ASHTON ( [email protected] ) CONTACTS YOU THROUGH EMAIL DON'T OPEN THE MESSAGE. DELETE IT BECAUSE HE IS A HACKER!! TELL EVERYONE ON YOUR LIST BECAUSE IF SOMEBODY ON YOUR LIST ADDS HIM THEN YOU WILL GET HIM ON YOUR LIST. HE WILL FIGURE OUT YOUR ID COMPUTER ADDRESS, SO COPY AND PASTE THIS MESSAGE TO EVERYONE EVEN IF YOU DONT CARE FOR THEM AND FAST BECAUSE IF HE HACKS THEIR EMAIL HE HACKS YOUR MAIL TOO!!!!!...

Anyone-using Internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on. This information arrived this morning, Direct from both Microsoft and Norton. Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet. You may receive an apparently harmless e-mail titled
'Mail Server Report'

If you open either file, a message will appear on your screen saying: 'It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful.'

Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC,
And the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password.

This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the
anti virus software's are not capable of destroying it .

The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself 'life owner'.
PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS E-MAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, And ask them to PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY!

Any email that suggests you should pass it on to all your friends is rubbish.

A modern day chain letter.

Junk mail, if you don't know the person sending the mail don't open it just delete. That way you minimise your exposure to viruses/malware....

Very urgent - this is not a joke or a chain! = this is a joke or a chain!

Be fair. The guy is only trying to help.
Its always better to be safe than..........well you know the rest.
We all go through a learning curve and this was his..................

Are you saying this is another scam done to frighten people (as if we do not have enough problems with our computers.) :wallbash:

It's a scam to drawn in the gullible into posting the message far and wide.

And I hope you didn't forward it to all your contacts as they probably get enough SPAM already without you adding to it.

This type of comment not needed thanks :dk:

Before circulating rubbish like this, it's worth checking it in any search engine.

In this case, just typing 'Simon Ashton' into Google generates over 3.5 miliion hits, most of them pointing out it's a well known hoax.

This Always gives it away:

Norman - best thing to do with anything like this you are suspicious or unsure about is plug a key sentance/phrase into google.

E.g paste "too late now, your life is no longer beautiful." into google (remembering to put double quotes around it so google will match the entire phrase and not just any page with those words distributed randomly) and the first hit is the snopes page Spike posted (often it will be snopes or hoax-slayer).

HTH

This is the first time I have ever had a virus warning so thought it was genuine we live and learn and NO I did not pass it on as an email to anybody I just did a copy and paste to the forum for your comments.
I left the forum once before because of the loosers getting nasty instead of helpfull, you will be pleased to hear I will be leaving permanantly now I only like to talk to nice guys and there are not too many left on this forum now hence all the losses DIESELMAN comes to mind what a load of expert information he had.

This statement raises the ironic question: Does calling people nasty losers make you one of the nasty losers or a nice guy?

Maybe too late, but a rule of thumb I use is; don't let the compliments go to your head and take the criticism which a pinch of salt. The written word can seem very harsh sometimes, I'm sure it's not always meant to.
