Harmon Kardon Speaker

Hi Guys,

The front bottom Passenger side door speaker is crackling when I turn up the volume and it's very annoying, it was like that when I bought the car last year but it’ got worse...

I got a quote from MB for £140 Inc fitting, the part is £70.20 which is the H/K, I’ve already paid for the part.

They quoted me for more on hour labour? I would have thought it's a 30mins job?

Any ideas?

i would fit it myself, its really not that hard, door panel off, unscrew speaker, unplug, plug new one in reverse the process.

ive had the door panel on the w211 off a few times, im sure there will be a w203 how to somewhere

I can give it a try but I seriously don't trust my self working on it... :S

its really not that hard, pop down to comand.com guys im sure Alfie will change it for alot less than that

As above or any local car audio place will do it. Also AFAIK the speakers are riveted on not screwed on.

Think while i'm there to pick up the speaker i'll just go with MB even though I think they are rip off, just too much hassle etc and plus I do not trust my self working on the car.
