I think they'll be the same, but mine is a s204 (w204 estate) and the fan chirps merrily away. I have read other instructions but I cannot even get the plugs apart let alone rotate the motor to pull it down, as it is awkward to grip. Any step by step tips would be much appreciated. Thanks

Interior fan (not done one) or coolant fan (did one last month!!)?:)

Had this on my C Class of many years ago.

I sprayed some Silicon down and into the fan. It stopped squeaking!

Down? from where?

I have tried spraying the end of the motor shaft from underneath but that didn't seem to reach target!

I also wonder if it is debris rather than the shaft, no idea really, except my ocd is v unhappy.

I am sure it was from above having taken out the cabin filter.

Leaf debris tends to make a rustling sound.

Hmmm, I believe that is a hole too small for a can. Did you just blast it in? I did consider that but thought I might end up with an oily smell forever in my car :)

I used the straw that comes with the can and gave it a good blast. You can smell it for a while but it quickly dissipated 👍

My ex adored the smell of WD40!

Not sure on a 204 but on a 203 removing the cover under the bonnet and taking out the cabin filter allows you to see the fan . No doubt when going from 203 to 204 MB will have 're invented the wheel' and the two will most likely share nothing in common.
