I've just read about the Head up windscreen display on the new BMW 4Series vert, showing the info, and I quote "in the driver's line of sight"

How does this compare with the MoT-failing windscreen chip in the same area?

While I'm sure you can 'look through' the display, but it seems to me to be inconsistent.

Have I missed something?

Untestable just like putting your hand in front of your face whilst driving doesn't make an MOT fail..

Not quite the same but I get what you mean.

Attached are a couple of pics from my 2008 M5. But I think the new head up displays are much better.

I am not sure it will show up on the pictures, but I will certainly post some when eventually my car is here.

When first tested another car with head up display, I was expecting to see an images projected on the screen, literally.

Obviously they are, but when looking at it from the driver seat, it looks as the information was actually on the road ahead of you, and not on the screen ;)

You'd have to see it for yourself, but it looks very neat.
