Headlamp Upgrade (Bulbs)?

Can someone recommend a good headlight bulb upgrade from the original fitment C180K 06 as i am finding the standard fitment not very good on these dark long days/nights etc?.

Great thanks for the replies much appreciated, it would seem the nighbreakers are a good upgrade overall from the standard fitment.

I forgot to add are there any increased heat issues and/or other with using either of these upgrades?.

I've used these guys a couple of times and they were both competitively priced and very quick to despatch / deliver.

Used Philips x-treme on a previous car and was most impressed. Even with xenon lights they made a noticeable difference to main beam.

I have some of the phillips xtreme bulbs in my 124 (bought from a member on here) - seem good and better than originals.

i had some other high rated bulbs in my previous CLK aswell

worth the money IMO.

Try flEaBay too - have bought several sets off there - cheap with quick delivery

whatever uprated bulbs you get though, make sure that they are the road-legal variety..... many on ebay are not

Philips X-treme did very well in the last Auto Express test. The Osram nightbreakers weren't rated as highly:

The German firm’s rival to the Philips X-treme (Page 67). It promises 90 per cent more light than standard, plus a whiter beam. But on our tests, the Night Breaker bulbs weren’t consistent enough. Although one gave the best result after the X-treme products, the other trailed nearly 50 points behind.

No, provided you use road-legal bulbs (which are the same wattage as normal bulbs and so draw the same current).

What about real Xenons for C180 ? Are they expensive? Can`t find them anywhere... advice?
