Headlight polish

Anything with a little bit of grit in it will do the job to remove the film that build up on the lens - so toothpaste and peanut butter will probably work - just not as well as a more suitable product like wet and dry paper and rubbing compound. I guess that these other ideas to use products in the home are from people who either don't know that there is a better product available or don't want to spend any money.

I used toothpaste once to remove a scuff on a hire car someone had left when on hols. Worked a treat but it was an emergency scenario!

Merry Christmas all! Hoping the rain holds off as I’m firing up the bbq rotisserie for our feast!

I did that once too...funny thing was it was a VW Polo so I took it back smelling of mint. :D Worked though.

Hope the rain holds off for your BBQ.

Some of the sealant implied here does not have UV protection. You need to use it or the headlights will be worse than ever in double quick time as the abrasive you just used has removed all the factory UV protection......The polish that claims UV resistance will last about five minutes....it needs to be a UV proof spray-on clear coat like it was originally if you want it to last.......unless you like redoing it every few months of course!!

Love some of the 'money saving home tips' on cleaning cloudy headlights found on the internet, everything from using toothpaste to peanut butter to cat wee!...not sure if either of these work and suspect someone is having a laugh....
I think the cat wee is only used on making a room clear. Have fun.

Listen to this

Totally pointless if you don't do this
