Hi All
Hope you had a good Christmas, just a small problem hope somebody can help with.
Mercedes 2005 220 CDI (W203) the switch for headlights ETC does not light up anymore is it a nuisance job to replace the bulb or a quick fix I don't want to go removing a load dashboard gear to get at them,me just being fussy that they don't work but as we all know removing dashboard parts could give me more problems than it is worth.

Happy new year to all.
Norman

AS YOU WILL NOTICE I CAN'T SPELL ILLUMINATING (How sad is that)

Switch panel is easily removed by removing the dash end panel to access the connectors. There is also a securing screw in the parking brake handle release recess.

Not all of them illuminate - prolly yours included.

^ +1,been there myself, could have sworn it lit up.

If it's the same as the w204 the only part that is illuminated is the part you can turn. Does look quite poor and would look so much better if the whole switch did illuminate

My 2005 C270 headlamp switch only illuminated the centre symbol. When I upgraded to xenons I replaced the switch panel for the panel without the thumbwheel adjuster and lo and behold all the symbols illuminated!!!

There was no mention in WIS or EPC regarding any differences in illumination, bulbs etc.. Very confusing.

Oh, and the switch panel in my CLS does not illuminate at all :dk:

The only part of my light switch (W203) which illuminates is the bulb symbol and the white bar, both of which are on the knob. The symbols around the knob - sidelights/auto/headlights etc., don't light up. Cost saving exercise by MB
